| What a whirlwind of a weekend. There were some great events and some hard ones. Randy and I headed to Indy to help my Dad this weekend. He just got back from Arizona and had brought things from their Condo and we helped him unload them. It was really strange and hard to see my Mom's handwriting on the packed boxes and to think that less than 2 years ago she had done that and all that has transpired since then. Saturday, Randy, Dad, and I went down to Southern Indiana to visit my Mom's grave. I hadn't been there since they put the head stone on and it was a hard morning for all three of us! Strange how you think you are ready to do something and can handle it and that quickly changes. My sister and I were talking about how much we just miss calling and talking to Mom. It was something we never imagined wouldn't be there. We kind of chuckled, because we have both actually picked up the phone in the last few months to call and then remembered.
Brandon has an internship in Cincinnati for the next 3 months. We were amazed as we watched the verses that God will do more than we can even imagine come to life for him. He interviewed on Tuesday, had the job on Wednesday and then we needed to move him down there so he could begin this Tuesday. We really didn't know anyone in the area to even get advice for where to live. Our ABF has been so faithful to pray for this situation and we let Pastor Todd know the God answered prayer concerning the internship and now we were trusting Him to help us with the living part of that. He sent an email to our ABF class quickly after that. To make a very long story short, he is staying with Sue Snyder's Aunt Vera and Uncle Bob just across the river from Cincinnati for this week and part of next week. They are some of the most incredible people I have ever met. They opened their home to him, not knowing him at all. When we met them on Sunday, it was like we had known them for a long time. Such gracious, kind, sweet, and giving people! Then on Saturday, Sue Weathers called us to tell us the her sister and brother-in-law said that Brandon could finish the time at their home. We haven't met them yet - hopefully during graduation this weekend. But again, blown away by such caring and giving people. And mostly a great reminder from God that he has the circumstances of our lives in his hands.

| So much has happened in our lives since I last posted. One of the best things was Richelle's and Chad's Wedding. It was absolutely beautiful! What I loved most about it all was that we had a great fun day celebrating God bringing the two of them together and how perfect they are for each other. We were able to enjoy the day so much more because of all of our wonderful friends that helped before, during and after the wedding, so that we could have the opportunity to bask in all that happened that day! We love that we have a new son in the family. He is a wonderful addition to our family. Someone asked me the day of the wedding if we were happy with Richelle's choice in a husband. My response was that it is amazing when we step back from trying to do something for our children, and let God do it, how He does so much more than we could ever ask or think. He certainly did that in this case! They were in Riveria Maya for their honeymoon and now they are at home in Canton, OH. We are so thankful for God providing them with such a great ministry, but I am missing them something fierce!
Brandon is back at Cedarville and is a senior now. He only has another semester of classes and an internship after this and he will be finished with school. We are very proud of all he has accomplished. Brandon's girlfriend Tiff finishes up her college this semester. She will be student teaching in Ohio. We love the joy she brings when she is with us!
I am missing my Mom something awful. I struggle sometimes with the whole timing of things. I keep in mind that God has the big picture and He is always good. There were a few times during the weekend of the wedding when it was more than I could deal with. I love God's promises that we will someday spend time together again.
I am going to be going to Hungary this summer with our church on a short term mission trip. I am so very excited, I can't even believe it's going to happen. The Soaring Eagles Missions Organization affliated with ECA has already contributed money to the church for me. If there are any ECA students, alumni, or faculty headed on trips soon, make sure to apply for the scholarship money that is available through this organization. I think the deadline is February.
Here are some pics of the wedding.

| Care group party tonight - awesome!!! I am absolutely loving being in with the youth on Wednesday nights and I have the BEST middle school girls care group in the world. We were at Hacienda tonight and had a blast!!! Next up for us is either Ali's volleyball game or Lexi's cross country meet and then Kathryn's play. Fun times!!!!
I can't believe so much time has passed since my last post. So much has happened. We moved Risch to Ohio. It is a great thing, but kind of sad (just for me - this move is permanent!). She has a great apartment and the best thing is she gets to be in the same town with Chad and minister with him to the youth at CBT. We were able to hear him speak twice during Labor day weekend and we loved having that opportunity. Wedding plans are coming along, I can't believe there is only 3 1/2 months to the wedding. I found my dress so that's good!
We went with Brandon for the weekend when he headed back to Cedarville. I do miss having him around the house - it gets lonely and quiet! He will be a senior at semster - yeah B!! Tiff is a senior this year and will graduate in May. She came to Granger a couple times this summer and it's always great to see her!
I am absolutely LOVING my new job! I am learning tons of new things - seems like every minute! Plus, I still get to teach an incredible group of Physics students. Then I have this wonderful power plus group - we are doing picnic next week. I don't get to see the students as much as I did last year, so I am missing them! Be sure to pop by my office often guys!
God is teaching me a lot about His Will and what all that means (definition) and how that applies to my life. I am also learning to be incredibly dependent on Him. For those of you who know me well, you will know that I like to be pretty independent and several things have come into our lives that is requiring us to be completely dependent on God. So that, although very difficult at times, has also been incredible sweet! I am finding that I pray in a whole different way now - much more personal and recognizing in prayer Who God really is!
Enough for tonight! I have to get my rest so I can be a totallllllllly dedicated fan for NOTRE DAME as I watch them from my couch tomorrow! GO ND!!!! | | |
